Nikola Madžirov is a poet, essayist, and translator born in 1973 in Strumica, Yugoslavia, into a family of refugees from the Balkan Wars. He won the Hubert Burda poetry award with the book Relocated Stone (2007). His poems are translated into more than forty languages. He lives in the city of his birth.
